In Love With: YRU

young – versatile – sky-high

‘Discovering edgy LA-based YRU Shoes was a big find. YRU is an emerging shoe line with all the right stuff. Taking inspiration from everything from the LA music scene, to tumblr, to the streets of Los Angeles, this team of artists is about making edgy, affordable shoes. We love that they describe themselves as individual thinkers designing with an undercurrent of universal acceptance in mind. On top of being really great guys, a portion of their proceeds is donated to gifted and financially challenged youth. Very cool.’ (http://www.ashburyskies.com/)

I can’t put it any better than the guys from Ashbury Skies, that is also how I feel about YRU.

In case you wonder YRU is the shortcut for Youth Rise Up. Well, you will definitely have your head in the clouds wearing those platforms. 🙂 I really love the shoes by YRU and will buy some more when my finances allow it.

Have great day and enjoy the following pictures!

In Love With: Onesies and Kigurumis

onesies

Stars like Miley Cyrus (left), Katy Perry (middle) and Rihanna (right) make the Onesie presentable. The comfortable all-over pajama has gained much popularity through the last months. Especially over the Christmas holidays the onesie was an often seen garment on selfies all around the world.

Onesies exist in many forms and with a variety of colors and prints, throughout all labels and price ranges. A very special form of an onesie is the japanese version, the so-called Kigurumi. It was originally an all-over costume of popular cartoon and anime characters (like e.g. Hello Kitty, Donald Duck or Pikachu) or animals. The kigurumi is already a regular feature of japanese everyday life, while it’s nearly only seen on conventions in the western world (or on famous people, like seen above).

Since I have spotted many funny/crazy onesies and kigurumis in the last months, I’ve decided to make a Top 10:

10. One Direction All Over Print by OnePiece

This onesie features the hand prints of all the One Direction band members. While I’m not so familiar with the band I like the idea and think it’s quite a cool item!

09. Hooded Fleece Onesie by DKNY

This version by DKNY is already a little more flashy but certainly cozy as haven.

08. Kaitlyn Pink Teddy Bear Onesie by boohoo

This is a nice alternative for people who don’t want to wear a kigurumi but love coziness and the little ears attached to the onesie. You have to love teddy bears, too of course.

07. Star Trek Onesie by Shop Jeen

This is for all Trekkies out there who cannot wait for the next convention. With this onesie you can dress up as your favorite Star Trek character at home and feel comfy all along.

06. Fleece Pink Pig Onesie Kigurumi by Cosy Pajamas

This onesie is a perfect example for a kigurumi! It is pink, it is comfy and it is a pig, come one you have to love it.

04. Big Bang Theory Soft Kitty Onesie Pajama with Hood

I love the Soft Kitty of The Big Bang Theory, so this onesie has to be in the top 10.

03. Hunter Kigurumi by Lisa Frank & SAZAC

It is rainbow-colored, do I have to say more?

03. Ozzy Romper by SO SO Happy x Iron Fist

This romper is an eyecatcher by itself but look how Miley Cyrus wears it…

o2. Zodiac Sign Gemini Kigurumi by Cosy Pajamas

This kigurumi is the most colorful, imaginary something I could find. I don’t know if you get more attention running naked through the streets or wearing this.

01. Pizza Belovesie by Beloved

Who wouldn’t want to look like a giant pizza?! The Pizza Belovesie is probably the most loved onesie on the internet. So many celebrities took selfies wearing it: Katy Perry (see above), Cara Delevingne and Miley Cyrus.

I hope you enjoyed my Top 10 of crazy onesies and kigurumis. What is your favorite onesie/kigurumi? How would your top 10 look like? I hope to hear from you in the comments 😉

Thanks so much and have a great day,

xx Isa

In Love With: Jumpsuits

jumpsuits

What is the must-have this season?! It is the jumpsuit!

Wikipedia describes a jumpsuit as follows: ‘Jumpsuit originally referred to the functional one-piece garments used by parachuters/skydivers, but has come to be used as a common term for any one-piece garment with sleeves and legs.’ As you can see on the image above, jumpsuits can also be without sleeves.

There are so many different variation of jumpsuits and as different as the jumpsuits themselves are their prices. Still there are many affordable ones that are also very pretty (Look at ASOS or H&M for a huge selection of jumpsuits). The three blonds on the picture above wearing more pricey pieces. Petite Ashley Tisdale (on the right of the picture) looks stunning in the elegant, white Paige Lace Jumpsuit by Monique Lhuillier. But that has it’s price, her jumpsuit costs around $2.000! Miley Cyrus (middle) was seen at The Laugh Factory in Los Angeles wearing the sexy Let’s Be Real Jumpsuit by Jhene Aiko for Lovers + Friends, which comes at $160.00. Rita Ora (left) goes Roy Lichtenstein with the Super All-in-One from her latest collaboration with Adidas. The jumpsuit costs also around $160.00 but you can see how different the styles are.

I’ve picked 10 jumpsuits, I liked a lot and to show you the range of variation that exists. I’ve listed the prices here as well:

The cheapest one costs around $55 and is by Monki, followed by the jumpsuit by Missguided for $70 and the one by Motel for $81. The jumpsuit by ASOS costs $90 and the one by Free People is with $108 not far behind. Followed by the jumpsuit by Wildfox for $135 and Threefloor‘s jumpsuit for $208! The second to last place goes to Rebecca Minkoff‘s suit for $235 and winner far off is the luxury, silk jumpsuit by Valentino for $5.200! Just to show you how high the prices can go and I’m sure that there are even more expensive ones 🙂 I want to state that there are beautiful and very well made clothes by cheaper brands, that also have great quality! I’m a big fan of Monki, for their price range they have a wonderful quality. I also love the the softness and quality by Wildfox for which you’ll have to pay a higher price. I haven’t had a chance yet to try out Threefloor Fashion and Rebecca Minkoff but I have made good experiences with other brands around that price range (like Moschino, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Rag’n Bone and others). As you might presume I cannot say much about the quality of the products by Valentino, since it exceeds my budget but I hope it justifies the high prices (I really have to try something one when I’m in Berlin or Munich the next time ;).

Have you made any other experiences in case of quality than me? What brand has a good/bad quality? Or do you think luxury items (like the jumpsuit by Valentino) are worth the money? Please tell us your opinions, I really would love to hear it 😉

In Love With: Demobaza

apocalyptical – unusual – adventurous

Have you ever wondered what to wear in case you have to face an army of zombies or if you have to survive in a post-apocalyptical world? Demobaza can answer you that question!

Honestly, the Bulgarian label Demobaza creates some of the coolest gear I have ever seen.

Their clothing range is inspired by a military and sportive style, as well as a very battered appearance. While the tops and bottoms are made of light and loose material, the accessories like scarfs and bags, are made of robust and heavy materials. You might find some of their creations hard to integrate into your everyday life but there are many products that you can wear without worrying. Their shoes are great and so are their water and swimsuits.

If you into dark colors, rags or simply into clothes that are cool and sporty, you have to check out Demobaza!

Their latest collection ‘Message of the Light’ is ready for preorder! It features more light colors than one is used to from the brand.

Also, it’s perfect for a trip to Tatooine, I’m sorry but some pieces remind me of what Tuskan Raiders use as clothing. I’m a huge fan of Star Wars and some of the clothes really remind me of the movies. Come on, who doesn’t secretly dream of dressing up as a Jedi or Sith? I know I do 🙂

Thanks for your attention, here are some more pictures from different collections:

In Love with: Monki

charming – simple – super cool

“And somewhere inside that dream, something was born. Suddenly, in that place west of nowhere special and beyond the horizon tiny monkis appeared, floating like bubbles into a clear sky. A new kind of creatures, made up, not of atoms, but of imagination.” (www.monki.com)

Monki Style

Monki is a swedish fashion brand with a lot of fantasy. Their clothing range features simple designs up to complex or structural patterns. They also have illustrated patterns with a very scandinavian touch. What I love most is their huge selection of basics and their oversized tops which seem to be a homage to the 1990s.

To be honest, for me it’s the more affordable version of Marc by Marc Jacobs. Their style is well thought out and bold, it also shows that you don’t have to spend hundred of dollars to have cool clothes.

The Monkis

Monki is probably the first brand that created a whole world around it’s label. The world is of course called The Monki World and their little habitants are the Monkis. Everyone of them has their own design and character, here is a great description of the most important Monkis! Isn’t that a lovely idea? They really get me with that. There are some merchandize that features those little creatures, some even have plush toys. 🙂

Here are some more pictures of Monki’s collection:

Those Monkis are cool, which one is your favorite? I think mine is Mocki, he is made of 50% Rebellium, 25% Wilditude, 15% Socialium and 10% Fantasium and he looks like steaming, pink marshmallow. 😀

I hope you liked my post 🙂 If you don’t know the label check it out on: www.monki.com

In Love With: Les Néréides Paris

romantic – colorful – atmospherical

Les Néréides is a french jewelry brand that was founded 1980.  Their work is full of romantic beauty, inspired by nature and french characteristics like ballerinas.

The details are so amazing, their rings, bracelets and necklaces are crowned with beautiful stones and pearls surrounded by small flowers and floral ranks, so detailed and colorful it’s hard to believe that they are not real. Little beetles, butterflies and different kind of birds decorate their jewels and make you dream of summer gardens, autumn promenades or spring’s first kiss.

I stumbled on Les Néréides by accident and if I ever go to Paris again it’s definitely on my list with shops to visit. 🙂

Check out their new Spring Collections or just shop around on their homepage.

Have fun!
